Research and Evaluation Solutions, Inc. (REESSI) is a premiere private research and evaluation firm with a national reach that is based in Alexandria, VA. Dr. Laverne Morrow Carter heads the firm, which evolved from her extensive experience in program planning, evaluation, and technical assistance with a broad range of government and non-government organizations. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Carter and her staff have worked with more than 1200 programs in 12 states; planned and conducted over 100 assessments and evaluations; provided approximately 600,000 person hours of training and technical assistance to community based health and human service programs; and employed over 700 health and human service staff and consultants. REESSI is a team-oriented solution center that brings together a transdisciplinary group of professionals who share the corporate mission. The company was founded in December 1985 in St. Louis, MO and restructured as a private C corporation in the State of Virginia in November 2004.  Our primary focus is on providing empirical knowledge, evidence, and information to help shape behavioral and policy solutions for health and social issues in vulnerable communities of color. Our services are in two specific areas: 1) Assessment and Evaluation and 2) Innovative Research. Our approaches focus on the engagement of stakeholders and beneficiaries in the process and creating interventions that are imbedded in natural settings
