REESSI was founded by Dr. Laverne Morrow Carter. The firm evolved from her extensive experience in program planning, evaluation and technical assistance with a broad range of government and non-government organizations in the United States. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Carter and her staff have worked with more than 1200 programs in 12 states; planned and conducted over 100 assessments and evaluations; provided approximately 600,000 person hours of training and technical assistance to community based health and human service programs and employed over 700 health and human service staff and consultants. REESSI is a team-oriented solution center that brings together a trans-disciplinary group of professionals who share the corporate mission. The company was founded in December 1985 in St. Louis, MO and restructured as a Subchapter S corporation in the Commonwealth of Virginia in November 2003. The vision of the REESSI team is cumulative and sustained health for all. Our service goals are:

1) To use new digital media to support children, youth and young adults from under-resourced families and communities in a positive transition to and through adulthood.

2) To use digital education and virtual social networking mechanisms to build the competence and capacity of public health workers.

3) To use mobile technology to improve patient-centered care through patient education.

Our mission is to investigate, design, build, evaluate and diffuse pragmatic digital learning and communication solutions that lead to cumulative and sustained health in under-resourced populations.
