ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Conducted statewide focus groups for the Missouri Health Department to assess the perceptions, beliefs, and attitudes of African American women regarding their health issues. (1999 to 2000)

Conducted a survey of the staff and clients of 7 Federal Community Health Centers to assess their felt needs. Designed and managed the We Care About Your Care campaign in the State of Missouri. (2001 to 2003)

Designed and evaluated the impact of an influenza immunization intervention that focused on Black seniors in Missouri. (2001 to 2003)

Capacity Building Support and Services to Communities and Organizations (2001 to present)

Planned and managed a six county community health assessment and survey of 48 Black communities in Southeast Missouri. (2003 to 2005)

Served as the official health program planner and evaluator for the Student National Medical Association programs that are conducted nationally. (2004 to 2006)

Conducted a statewide stakeholder assessment in Virginia that focused on preventing colorectal cancer, and collected data from community based health centers and clinics that led to the creation of a cancer education and screening directory for underserved and uninsured residents (2004 to 2007)

Designed and currently implement two HIV/STI risk reduction interventions (P.E.A.R.L.S. and J.E.W.E.L.S.) that focuses on Black and Latina girls and young women aged 9 to 24. (2004 to present)

Designed and currently implemented an HIV risk intervention for adolescent Black and Latino males entitled (G.E.M.S.S. ). (2007 to present)

Established a Youth Opportunities Network (YONET) to help build capacity of community and faith based organizations in Northern Illinois and North Carolina to meet the health and social needs of youths in African American and Latino communities. (2006 to present)

Conducted community wide health needs assessments in four communities in Suburban Cook County, IL. (2005 to 2007)

Conducted a comprehensive assessment of health care access needs in North St. Louis (2008)
